Languages: Strong verbal & written English & Chinese communication skills, German would be a plus

Main responsibilities:

  • Currently our client is in an expansion phase. Companywide our client wants to hire more than 200 employees and more than 90 of them in China/APAC. Due to this fact, we are searching a Regional Head of HR Asia who is reporting directly to the Vice President Human Resources in the Headquarters in Germany.
  • We are searching an HR generalist who acts as a trusted HR Business partner and HR advisor relating to all HR fields, including talent acquisition, learning and development, employee relations etc. (S)He ensures HR Policies and Procedures are aligned with corporate objectives and complied with local regulations.
  • Being located in Shanghai/China, the future incumbent has four employees and is responsible for two sites in Shanghai, Shandong and further plants in the region which are planned to be build. 
  • His/her team consists of:
  1. HR Business Partner
  2. Recruiter
  3. Trainer and a
  4. Compensation and Benefits specialist

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A bachelor’s degree ideally with post graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management or related fields
  • Minimum 8+ years HR experience
  • Minimum 3+ years management experience ideally exposed to manufacturing sites within ASIA region and a global matrix organization
  • Knows how to act in an international organization and therefore already used to work with other different regions and nationalities, especially German
  • (S)he worked ideally in the automotive supplier industry, machinery and equipment or MedTech
  • His/her career record demonstrates some substantial HRM experience in a changing/growing organization
  • Evidence of having conceived and introduced innovations in HR which had an impact on an organization’s success and competitiveness
  • Can refer to some excellent assessment abilities to evaluate the organi­za­tion, its staff and knows how to make a change happen
  • Has shown the courage of convictions and the ability to attract the best talent
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and people management skills, abreast on HR practices and technologies to initiate best HR practices & systems
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills and integrity
  • A strong team leader & player, adaptable in a fast-paced environments
  • Is good in analytical thinking and problem solving and acts hands-on
  • Is able to identify relevant parameters, courageous when it comes to decision making
  • As a person (s)he is accessible and empathic
  • Used to foster teamwork within team members and can motivate others
  • Is respecting people, knows how to handle conflict management
  • Used to work in a multinational environment – especially Chinese and/or European/German
